I was considering playing through Mass Effect 2 with the sole purpose of killing off all the characters in the final mission, just to see who takes their place in Mass Effect 3. It seems like a lot of effort just to kill off awesome characters though :( Yet, I’m so curious. Gah.

George R.R. Martin on writing women
George Stroumboulopoulos: There's one thing that's interesting about your books. I noticed that you write women really well and really different. Where does that come from?
George R.R. Martin: You know, I've always considered women to be people.

KoA: Reckoning is proof that presentation is more...
Whoa whoa lower the pitch forks and put out those torches, it’s not that bold of a claim. Many a gamer will coo and caw over the superiority of gameplay over all else, and I don’t disagree, but this is usually in reference to graphics. I’m not really going to talk about graphics per say, I’m referring to the overall presentation of story, and the setup of the scenarios that are meant to push the...

Burton of the Apes: The Bastardization
I love the original Planet of the Apes movie, I do not love Tim Burton’s re-imagining of it. I’ll tell you why.   1. The original movie presented a lot of the ideas and themes in an intellectual and engaging way, one of my favourite scenes is the trial, it carries the tension while still showing the apes ignorance in their intelligence, all through dialogue. The Burton film vaguely pulls...
